Personal Care Preferred Group Offers Training Classes
On Sunday, April 19, 2009 the First Baptist Church (FBC) of Emporia, VA dedicated its new youth center. The center will provide much needed space for the church youth, as well as the First Baptist Christian Academy, Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (AWANA) Program and the youth of the community in general. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony Mark Yeattes, Chairman of Deacons, and Jeff Robinson, Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee, had the honor of cutting the ribbon and formally dedicating the center.

Personal Care Preferred Group Food Drive A Huge Success
Personal Care Preferred Group’s (PCPG’s) first companywide food drive netted over 1,000 food items to be equally divided and donated to the social services departments that serve the company’s seven locations, including the counties of Isle of Wight, Prince George, Sussex, Southampton, Surry, Brunswick, Greensville, Chesterfield and Dinwiddie, as well as the cities of Emporia, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Franklin. Community members and employees were asked to donate non-perishable, non-breakable food items between December 1 and December 17, 2008.

PETERSURG, VA – A recent study conducted by Richmond-based Genworth Financial Inc. revealed that the costs for facility based long-term care services such as nursing homes and assisted-living facilities have sharply increased over the past five years, while costs for at-home care remains stable in Virginia and nationally.
